The Right Hand Man

Prophecy: Jesus would ascend and sit at God's right hand

Psalm 68:18

 When you ascended on high,
    you took many captives;
    you received gifts from people,
even from the rebellious—
    that you,  Lord God, might dwell there.

 

 

Acts 1:9

 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

 

 

Acts 2:32-33

 32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. 33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.

 

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

 19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.

 

Ephesians 4:8-10

 This is why it says:“When he ascended on high, he took many captivesand gave gifts to his people.”(What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? 10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)

The resurrection of the dead

10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,

At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.


Psalm 49:15

 

15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave,
For He shall receive me. Selah
 
 
 

Mark 16:5-6

 

And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.
But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

The Body would never decayed

    my body also will rest secure,

 

 

Acts 2:24 

24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

 

 

Acts 2:27

27 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay.

 

 

Acts 2:31 

31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay.

Three days and night

Matthew 12:39-40

 39 He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

 

Matthew 27:57-60

 

57 As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. 58 Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. 59 Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away.

The burial of Jesus

He was taken from prison and from judgment,

But with the rich at His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was any deceit in His mouth.


Matthew 27:57-60

 

57 Now when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. 58 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given to him. 59 When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed.

Daniel 9:26

 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.

 

 

John 11:49-52

 

49 Then one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up, “You know nothing at all! 50 You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.”
51 He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, 52 and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one.

Jesus Christ, our passover

Prophecy: Jesus Christ, our passover, was sacrificed for us

Exodus 12:3

 Tell the whole congregation of Israel that on the tenth of this month they are to take a lamb for each family, a lamb for each household. 

 

Exodus 12:5-6

 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a year-old male; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats. You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month; then the whole assembled congregation of Israel shall slaughter it at twilight. 

 

 

Isaiah 53:7

 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,yet he did not open his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

 

 

John 1:29

 29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and declared, “Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 

 

 

1 Corinthians 5:7

 Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch, as you really are unleavened. For our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed.

 18 You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish.

Psalm 34:19-20

 19 The righteous person may have many troubles,
    but the Lord delivers him from them all;
20 he protects all his bones,
    not one of them will be broken.

 

 

John 19:33-36

 33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. 35 The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. 36 These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken,”[
